MATINS

Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; And sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation; And my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

O Lord, open thou my lips; And my mouth shall show forth thy praise.

For thou delightest not in sacrifice; else would I give it: Thou hast no pleasure in burnt-offering.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: A broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: Build thou the walls of Jerusalem.

Then will thou delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, In burnt-offering and in whole burnt-offering: Then will they offer bullocks upon thine altar.

Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit ;
Now and always and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

The Deacon :
BIDDING  AFTER  THE  MAGNIFICAT  CHANT

  We bow down to thee, O Lord our God , having passed through the length of the night and having come betimes to this place of confession, we offer to thee our prayers of the morning. We bless and glorify thee, O Lord ; and we give thanks to thee, O Lord, who didst make us worthy to pass the night in peace and to arrive at this morning hour.
    Make us worthy, O Lord, of thy ineffable promises, which thou didst promise to them that love thee, the true God, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Save and have mercy.
    Have mercy upon us, O Lord our God, according to thy great mercy. Let us all say with one accord :
    Lord, have mercy ; Lord, have mercy ; Lord, have mercy.

The Priest :
