The Deacon :
BIDDING AFTER THE PATRUM CHANT
We all who have come into the holy catholic and apostolic
Church, let us pray to the only-begotten Son of God, our Lord and Saviour
Jesus Christ, who descended with the glory of the Father into the midst of
the furnance and delivered the three children from the Chaldeans. May he keep
our minds enlightened and holy, lest we be worthy to keep his commandments,
to receive on ourselves the crown of light and life, which crown he has promised
to them that love him, Jesus Christ, very God, our Lord. Save and have mercy.
The Priest :
Lord, have mercy ; Lord, have mercy ; Lord, have mercy.
ASCRIPTION AFTER THE PATRUM CHANT
For Dominical Days
To the mighty, triumphant, wondrous, holy and
majestic resurrection of Christ our God, is befitting glory, dominion and
honour, now and always and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
For Martyrs' Days
Make fall, O Lord, the dew of thy beneficent
mercy upon our sinful souls. Quench the flame of the furnance of our transgressions
and deliver us from the eternal fire.
Make us worthy, together with the three holy children and
with the blessed holy martyrs, to bless and to praise thee and to give thanks
and glory to thee, to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
now and always and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
